The Building of Freya - an Arctic Tern designed by the late Iain Oughtred.

The construction took more than a year in an Australian garage. The double-ended sailing dinghy mesures 5,52 m in length, 1,64 meters wide and weighs about 110 kg.

The boat is built from marine plywood and epoxy with a few pieces made from knot free pine. It’s not a wooden boat in a traditional sense but a modern hybrid - light, much easier to maintain and build - making it possible for amateurs to accomplish.

Painted, it looks a lot like a traditional dinghy with beautiful lines and easy handling.

Freya was sold in Australia later on. I really miss this lovely boat.
